Das Besucherzentrum der Schweizerischen Vogelwarte befindet sich am Ufer des Sempachersees. Es bietet der Öffentlichkeit einen Einblick in die Arbeit der Vogelwarte und in die einheimischen Vogelarten der Region. Die vorgefertigten Stampflehm-Fassadenelemente sind in der Voliere 35 cm und in den übrigen Teilen des Ausstellungsraumes 45 cm dick. Sie bilden selbsttragende Wände, die das Stahl- und Betonskelett des Gebäudes umschließen. Die Fensterrahmen aus Cortenstahl, die zusammen mit der Stampflehmfassade montiert wurden, sind mit den Fenstern in die Stampflehmteile eingebettet.

The visitor centre of the Swiss Ornithological Institute is situated on the banks of the Sempach Lake. It offers the public insight into the work of the ornithological station and the native bird species of the area. The prefabricated rammed earth facade elements are 35 cm thick in the aviary and 45 cm thick in the other parts of the exhibition space. They form  self-bearing walls that enclose the steel and concrete skeleton of the building. Corten steel window frames, which were installed together with the rammed earth façade, are embedded with the windows in the rammed earth components.
