How can earth building be scaled worldwide and in the Global South? An essential question that motivates us to share our know-how, provide advice and work on scaling up earth building.

For the first time, scaling in earth building concerns many issues. Acting without shedding light on critical questions can do more harm than good.

erden impact sees itself as a platform for clarifying questions specific to earth building and facilitates the exchange of knowledge in the field of earth building in the Global South. It is clear that not only the transfer of technical skills is crucial, but also social sustainability with regard to the geographical and cultural context. The focus is on combining traditional earth building methods with innovative techniques adapted to local conditions in order to create resource-saving, sustainable and socially just construction methods. Through targeted training, close cooperation with local communities and the involvement of local stakeholders , erden impact helps to ensure that earth building is understood not just as a technical solution, but as a culturally and ecologically integrated practice. Structures should be self-sustaining, context-sensitive and respect cultural identity and local traditions. Building on the many years of experience of Lehm Ton Erde Baukunst GmbH and Martin Rauch , erden impact takes on advisory activities on issues specific to earth building.
In cooperation with local actors, the creative potential of the Global South is to be utilized within this knowledge transfer, which strengthens local innovative power and promotes a sustainable, self-determined building culture.
