ERDEN expands the story of Lehm Ton Erde

Lehm Ton Erde: These three elements characterize our work and form the basis of our holistic philosophy: loam stands for craftsmanship and technology, clay for artistic design, earth for the ecological and social dimension of earth building. It has taken ten generations to lose traditional building methods, now a few generations should be enough to revive them.
ERDEN unites all these facets and goes beyond them: as the plural of Erde, it symbolizes the diversity of construction methods, earth compositions, mediation methods and approaches. Earth building is not only a technical craft, but also communal, cultural and political. This is why our work and vision are divided into Impact, School and Studio. ERDEN stands for multiple actors, different stories and new didactic principles; it is multi-faceted and open to long-term, sustainable systems of thinking and ecological building.

Lehm Ton Erde Baukunst GmbH has been realizing projects of all sizes internationally for over 40 years, proving that it is possible to implement projects of a modern standard using 100% earth. The company has developed clay walls, floors, ceilings and other products. It also offers a wide range of professional services: Consulting, specialist planning, logistical planning, recipe and machine development and research.
The focus of Lehm Ton Erde is the realization and concrete implementation of earth building projects worldwide and looks back on dozens of pioneering projects.
Erden, on the other hand, is the extended vessel that focuses on the creative design, mediation and knowledge transfer of unstabilized earth building. Erden Studio offers creative planning of building projects with a focus on sustainability in materials, technology and society. Erden School offers educational programs, mediation projects and workshops for people of all ages.
